This report comes from the workshop organised by BeMed as part of the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference. The aim was to compare and align needs on the ground with funders requirements in order to promote the implementation of sustainable actions in different Mediterranean contexts.
There is a gap between the short-term need on the ground to improve waste management in order to limit leakage into the environment, and the longer-term vision favoured by funders of reducing plastic production and consumption, particularly through support for the private sector.
This special report on Tunisia presents the priorities of funders and stakeholders on the ground in terms of regulation, waste management, the private sector and awareness raising.
