Winter Business Club Workshop

On December 10 and 11, 2025, we brought together the members of our Business Club in Paris for our end-of-year workshop.
These two days were an opportunity to:

  • explore practical solutions to reduce plastic use on industrial and commercial packaging;
  • review key insights from the Science–Industry–Society Dialogue on consumer-related challenges and translate them into participants’ day-to-day activities;
  • leverage collective intelligence to move forward on strategic topics for the Business Club;
  • and, as always, share the progress of ongoing projects, strengthen our skills, move forward together, (re)connect and strengthen our ties.

Agenda

Day 1

Presentation of new member companies

Over the past few months, several companies and hotel groups have joined the Business Club and the Hotels Working Group.
Participants were introduced in particular to Aroma-Zone, as well as to the new members of the Hotels Working Group.

Integrating consumer challenges within companies

To conclude the series of thematic sessions devoted to consumer acceptance of reuse practices, a summary of the sessions was provided to members. An open source fact sheet summarising the concepts and lessons learned on the subject will be published next year. A workshop was offered to help members translate key concepts into concrete, everyday professional practices.

Preparing the next Science–Industry–Society Dialogue topic

Ahead of the workshop, a survey helped identify the theme for the 2026 discussions. The workshop then focused on clarifying key questions and the experiences members would like to share.

DAY 2
The day opened with an introduction, a reminder of the objectives, and a fun icebreaker activity to encourage interaction among participants.

Let’s define the next pilot project

The Retail Pilot Project in Monaco is coming to an end, making it time to prepare what comes next.
This session invited members to contribute to the reflection on the focus, format and new modalities of the upcoming pilot project, ensuring it addresses their needs.

What’s new within the Business Club ?

  • Following the previous workshop, several solution pathways were identified to maximize the impact of the Retail Pilot Project. Participants were updated on the actions implemented since then at Carrefour Monaco.
  • The Hotels Working Group is gaining momentum. Progress made by the Mediterranean collective was shared, along with a preview of solutions to be tested in the coming months.
    The Monte Carlo Bay Hotel shared their experience and answer questions, with a presentation from Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) team.

Less talk, more concrete solutions

This workshop focused on a cross-cutting topic frequently raised by members: industrial and commercial packaging.
Participants shared practical solutions, feedback from internal trials, and challenges they are currently facing in reducing plastic use. The session aimed to pool knowledge and identify concrete alternatives together.
Thanks you again to all participants, companies, scientists and NGOS for challenging each others through the discussions.
