SEA Plastics Expedition 2019

Main results of the project:

The project consisted of a campaign of scientific sampling and awareness-raising on board a sailing boat along the French, Spanish and Italian Mediterranean coasts. Each year, a new group of student volunteers took over this initiative. BeMed specifically supported the awareness-raising part of the project.

The objectives included carrying out interventions during stopovers, developing educational games and creating a story featuring “Isa the seagull”.

11 interventions with children were carried out.
11 conferences for the general public were organized.
Two educational games and a story were created.
An 8-minute documentary about the expedition was made.

The educational tools developed will continue to be used in the years to come.
