Youth for a clean Adriatic
Main results of the project :
The “Youth for a clean Adriatic” project aimed to develop a network of companies, local administrations and organizations to promote a dynamic towards a plastic-free Montenegro, based on education, activism and awareness-raising campaigns.
- Environmental clean-ups: Eight clean-up operations were organized on beaches, rivers and lakes, each time in different places and on symbolic days (Water Day, Earth Day). These actions mobilized a large audience, raised awareness among five new associations and resulted in the removal of 50 m³ of waste.
- Workshops and educational activities: Awareness-raising sessions and practical workshops were organized to teach schoolchildren the importance of protecting the environment. These “eco-schools” days addressed topics such as plastic pollution, water conservation, noise pollution, local flora and recycling. Eight sessions were held during the project period.
- Adaptation to health constraints: To maintain activities despite health restrictions, an alternative workshop format was implemented. During the Kotor theater festival, the association screened documentaries followed by debates on plastic pollution and environmental protection.
- Ecological camps: Four “eco-camps” were organized over weekends, offering young people educational and immersive activities around environmental protection. These events included clean-ups, museum visits, and art-making workshops to feed into exhibitions on environmental issues.
