This initiative focuses on reducing single-use plastics (SUP) through awareness campaigns, offering alternative products, and policy work.
The project aims to expand a pilot program of plastic-free sports events to a broader community and support two youth centers in Alexandria in adopting sustainable practices. Additionally, it will host green skills boot camps for environmental leaders in four coastal Egyptian cities, helping to launch grassroots initiatives. A bi-annual community gathering will strengthen the network of activists and green entrepreneurs, facilitating collaboration towards banning SUPs.
The initiative also plans to start a production line for recycled paper pens with seeds, enhancing the eco-store offerings. Finally, a green investment guide will be developed to provide financial and non-financial support for green entrepreneurs, highlighting government incentives and active green startups in Egypt.
