The aim of the initiative “Une mer sans plastique en Tunisie: de la sensibilisation à l’action” is to raise public awareness in Tunis in order to encourage them to sort their waste.
Over 700 students will be educated on the consequences of plastic pollution on the environment and on sustainable solutions, dictated by the 3R rule: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. These courses will be integrated into the education curriculum. The creation of “environment clubs” will also be encouraged to foster family involvement.
The association will also be focusing on strengthening the capacity of Tunisie recyclage sorting area so as to increase collection. At the same time, beach clean-up days will be set up to raise public awareness and incentivise waste sorting.
