Lebanese Developers focuses on income generation and the integration of women in the Lebanese labor market

With the support of BeMed, Lebanese Developers developed a successful first project, aiming to collect torn fishnets from the fishermen from Akkar (and its surroundings) and raise awareness. During their work, Lebanese Developers realized other remaining plastic remains were found trapped in the nylon fishnets and that they needed to be shredded, treated and transformed. In this year’s initiative Lebanese Developers plan on having their own nylon pellet production linen where they will recycle the shredded materials and sell them under the form of nylon pellets ready to be used by the market. A percentage of the money collected will be given to the fishermen to guarantee long term cooperation. This initiative intends to raise awareness amongst fishermen in order for them to implement and improve their collection and recycling process.
